Manchester United has finally sealed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of 23 year old Shinji Kagawa. He plays as an Attacking Midfielder/Winger.
He is a two time Bundesliga Champion. He has been a success in the Bundesliga after his move from Cerezo Osaka. He was named in the 2010/11 Bundesliga’s Team of the season. He has been an influential figure in Borussia Dortmund’s title retention this past season. In the 2011/12 season, he has scored 17 times and helped with 13 assists in 43 games (all competition).
He should be able to bring in a much needed stability and creativity to the United midfield which was affected by a long list of injuries past season. The crisis was so bad that boss Sir Alex Ferguson had to bring Scholes back from retirement. Kagawa brings with him pace, a trick or two and in addition he can score when needed. He is comfortable playing out wide or centrally.
Since Kagawa is away on National duty for Japan, the deal might have to wait till June end to be completed. It is now only subject to player medical and obtaining a UK work permit.
