We like to call the confederations cup as championship of all champions . Its a FIFA tournament contested by the holders of each of the six FIFA confederation championships (UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, CAF, AFC, OFC), along with the FIFA World Cup holder and the host nation, to bring the number of teams up to eight.Since 2005, the tournament has been held in the nation that will host the FIFA World Cup in the following year so this years tournament is in Brazil between 15 and 30th June.
The 8 teams that make this times tournament are below
1. Japan –> They made their place for this cup after beating Australia in the AFC Asian cup final by 2-1 in 2001 which was held in Qatar.
2. Nigeria –> They booked their place beating Burkina in CAF Africa Cup of nations 2013.
3. Tahiti –> They have achieved to qualify in the FIFA Confederations cup after beating New Caledonia by 1-0 in the OFC Nations Cup 2012.
4. Spain –> The UEFA EURO cup 2012 champions, Spain has also marked their place into this cup as they are the current UEFA world champion team.
5. Mexico –> They got in defeating USA in Concacaf Gold Cup.
6. Uruguay –> They booked their name into this cup by getting the Copa America Cup 2001 which was organized in Argentina.
7. Italy –> The runner up team of UEFA EURO CUP 2012.
8. Brazil –> Host team

The Semi Finals will be played on 26th and 27th of June while 3rd and 4th place and finals is on 30th June .
The good news for the fans in India is that we will get live telecast thanks to ESPN, Star Sports (INDIA ) acquiring TV rights of Fifa Confederations Cup Brazil 2013.
