City’s Double Delight

The brilliance of two argentines Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero helped City resume the race for championship by thrashing Norwich City 6 – 1. The both netted 5 goals with Tevez getting the hat-trick. The 27,000 people at Carrow Road left stunned by the mesmerizing performance of Mancini’s boys.

After coming 11 months later from the bench, Carlos Tevez opened the score line with a surprising 20 meter long stunner. Minutes later he back healed a super pass to Sergio Aguero who made it 2-0 with a crushing volley. They reserved more miseries for the home team in the second half.

Norwich started aggressively and got a quick goal. Joe Hart misjudged the ball and it felt right before Surman who made no mistake to put it behind Joe. The two argentine strikers continuously threatened the defence line with their sharp attacking style. They gave Norwich defenders all sorts of problem. 18 minutes later Tevez increased the lead with a simple looking header.

But Sergio Aguero came from nowhere and pulled a super goal with two defenders on his shoulder. He ran at least 40 meters before taking his tally to 20 in this season. The two looked promising for the third goal. It was Tevez who got it two minutes later. The defender made a terrible mistake and offered him a lollipop. He swiftly passed the goal keeper, took his time and kicked with ease. Aguero could have also got the hat trick but hit the post instead in the 90th minute. The substitute Johnson scored the sixth when he met a fine cross from Aguero 30 seconds from time.

City started this week eight points behind the leader Manchester United. The win against Norwich narrowed the gap to two points and put the pressure back on Ferguson’s boys who would take on Aston Villa in a super Sunday clash. Today’s result has definitely turned the heat on for the 30th derby clash which will be the deciding factor for the championship.
